The Influence Network community is having a fun linkup for existing members and conference attendees to get to know each other more personally before our conference in September. Although we have the benefit of creating relationships and networking in our forums, there are some of us that are still quiet ::cough:: ME ::cough:: and may go more unnoticed from time to time... yes, I am a forum lurker. I admit it!
So, as a way to get to know each other a little better, we've been asked to share the following info:
- 3 things about yourself
- 1 thing you have learned using the Network
- 1 photo of yourself that you absolutely love
Get to know me:
- I'm a huge introvert, but I love being surrounded by people. I am a great listener, and love encouraging, including, and relating to others.
- My husband and I live in a musical. You really should have seen the songs and dances we came up with on our Florida vacation last week. Actually, it's probably best that you didn't.
- My guilty pleasures: fast food, sweatpants, and Smash.
One valuable thing I've gained from The Influence Network: the opportunity to be surrounded by encouraging, inspiring, loving, influential, like-minded women who are looking for ways to use their creative gifts, life experiences, and wisdom to spread the Gospel. And in turn, be challenged on a daily basis to make sure I'm living the life God has called me to live by growing deeper in my relationship with Him.
For those of you participating in the linkup, would you mind visiting the link behind you on the linkup and leaving an encouraging comment? Thanks!
I'm excited to browse around on the Influential Women linkup and meet some new faces. I'm blessed to be doing community with all of you lovely ladies!
If you haven't become part of The Influence Network, join us today!

#1 describes to a t. #2 not so much. I should never be heard singing:))))
ReplyDeleteHaha But, can you dance? ;)
DeleteHi Moriah, I'm Allison a follower here at your blog and love hearing all about the Influence Conference, I live in Indianapolis and wanted so badly to come last year but it was my last weekend home on maternity leave so I couldn't seperate myself from my babies. I'm hoping this year I can attend. I however was wondering if there would be any place for an amazing ministry (Center for Global Impact) here in Indianapolis to have a presence. My best friend from high school works for them and it's a great organization. Here are two links to more information. http://bytavi.com/ http://www.centerforglobalimpact.org/ Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAllison - I'm from Indy too and work on the InfluenceNet team. I actually go to Common Ground, who partners with CGI. I think partnering with them for the Conference and maybe beyond would be a really good fit. Thanks for the info and I hope to meet you at the Conference this fall!
DeleteThis is so great, Allison! I encourage you to email Ashley at theinfluenceconference@gmail.com - she is our conference manager and I know she'd LOVE to hear more about you and CGI.
DeleteJust clicked over from the link up. I'm starting feeling like 95% of bloggers are introverts because #1 describes me perfectly. :) Loving getting to know more about you!

I agree. I'm much better at writing out my feelings rather than saying them out loud. Blogging is perfect for that. haha
DeleteI want to live in a musical! That sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMy children wouldn't necessarily agree. haha
DeleteYou inspire and encourage me constantly and it is a blessing to be in community with you!
ReplyDeleteWell, you inspire and encourage me, Mama. I love watching you raise up your little family to love the Lord!
DeleteWe've commented on Twitter before about this, but I am also an introvert. But reading posts from you about the Influence Network works for you gives me hope that I don't have to be an extrovert to be a part of this awesome group of women!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to realize that most bloggers at introverts. You're not alone. ;)
DeleteI totally watched Smash last season and loved it! I don't really have time to watch it online during nap time, though, now that I'm blogging.
ReplyDeleteMy guilty pleasure TV show is totally the Bachelor/Bachelorette. It goes against pretty much everything I believe, but it's like a train wreck you can't look away from!
I hope selling your house is going well!
We don't watch tv much, either, so it was either Bach or Smash. My husband couldn't stomach Bach, so Smash it was. ;)
DeleteYou inspire me Moriah! There is just something about ya! :) Love your encouraging heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ashley! This comment made my day.
DeleteI'm quite the lurker too. Still trying to figure out where to squeeze in. :) This is what drew me to the network " the opportunity to be surrounded by encouraging, inspiring, loving, influential, like-minded women who are looking for ways to use their creative gifts, life experiences, and wisdom to spread the Gospel. " Yes. This.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you!
I encourage you to just post ANYTHING on the forums. The ladies will flock to you like ducks to bread. You'll meet the perfect group of women really fast by just saying HELLO! :)
DeleteHi Moriah! I am totally with you on your #1. I always thought I was an extrovert because I loved being with people. But a couple years ago, I realized I was actually an introvert who just loves people. Glad to know you are in the same boat!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya. I'm really good at faking being an extrovert, but it takes so much energy out of me. I'm much happier just sitting and being a good listener.
DeleteI don't know if I would necessary be called a huge introvert, but I definitely can relate and understand your #1 just like some of these other ladies mentioned!
ReplyDeleteAnd have you been involved in theatre / musicals in the past?
Funny story. Because of being an introvert, I always assumed that I'd probably be too scared to be on stage. My senior year in high school, my choir teacher begged me to try out for the school musical, and I ended up getting one of the lead roles. It was my first and last play. AND where I became great friends with my now-husband. I loved the experience and wish I would have participated a lot more in plays back then.
DeleteSo thankful for this community! And I have always thought the photo above is such a beautiful one of you! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bri! That is so sweet to say. :)
DeleteWell, I just LOVE musicals. I'm a fanatic. So I can relate to making up songs and dances. My kids love it :)
ReplyDeleteExcited to be a part of the network and go to the conference!
Hope to meet you there, Molly! :)
Delete1. i love love love that pic! you are stunning!
ReplyDelete2. smash - great guilty pleasure!
3. love that your life is a musical! it simply sounds magical!
I don't know many people who watch Smash, so I think you and I would instantly be friends. ;)
DeleteI completely agree with you there on number 1! So nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! I LOVE your blog!
DeleteMoriah. I vote for a fast food run at Influence in September. I love me some fast food!
ReplyDeleteI'm also an introvert who loves being surrounded by people. I'm still trying to figure out to live out that dichotomy and respect & protect those two parts of myself. If you have any tips, please share!
I'm no expert. That's why I'll be taking Lindsey Kubly's Influence Network class on being an introvert! :)
DeleteI liked you already, and now I like you more. I love that photo. It's a good one, though I must say, either you are always looking pretty or are very strategic in what you share online because YOU ARE ALWAYS PRETTY! My guess is that you're always pretty.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to chat with you soon. Love ya friend.
I only take pictures of myself when I've taken a shower. Which is rare. ;)
DeleteYou are more awesome with every bit I get to learn about you!
ReplyDeleteMcDonald's french fries are my biggest weakness. It is the worst food on earth but the best taste. How can that be?!
I think I'm in the same juxtaposition~ my heart and mind scream for silence and a place to sort through my thoughts and ideas, but at the same time I love to be around people who let their thoughts and ideas out.
Looking forward to September and hoping to meet you! Take care :)
Can't wait to meet you, Kristin!
DeleteMoriah,
ReplyDeleteLove the thing about musicals! My husband and I often change the words to songs fit the moment (for instance, "all the single ladies" might get turned into "all the cranky babies"). I am so afraid that our kids are going to grow up knowing the tunes to songs, but none of the right words. =)
You sound JUST like my husband and I!
Deletehaha this is awesome!!! so cool to learn more about you, Moriah!!! i hear ya on the sweat pants!!! my kids and i refer to those as "comfy clothes" and wear them whenever possible!! XO
ReplyDeleteI've realized that it makes my life easier, since we rarely leave the house anyway. Less laundry, right?
DeleteLove learning about another Moriah! Beautiful pic!
ReplyDeletehah yess I live in musical too. But only when I want to annoy my husband ;) I may have tricked him into seeing Les Mis without telling him they sing the WHOLE time. Oops!
ReplyDeleteOh, man. Our husbands are very different. My husband had to beg me to see Les Mis. haha
DeleteTrue story: One day last year The Professor and I were in the car and I was humming. He asked me if I *always* have a song in my head and I said, that yes, of course I do. It was then that I realized for the first time that not everyone lives with music in their head. Which I think is kind of sad, because they're obviously missing out on something wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of you, Moriah!
Seriously! Everyone should have their own life soundtrack!
DeleteSmash is a guilty pleasure of mine as well! I would love to walk around and live in a musical. We kind of do in our house but not nearly enough!
ReplyDeleteWe've started playing music throughout the day a lot more, and I think that just encourages more dancing. haha
DeleteThis is the first time I've visited your blog and when I read that you live in a musical I scrolled down to see if you had a playlist. I wish you did. Or do you have a post where you share some of your favorite music?
ReplyDeleteOh, I should, shouldn't I? I'll put it on my list of things to post. Right now, I have a long list of favorite worship music to get me through the day.
