Loving: This weather. The humidity has passed and our days outside have been much more enjoyable. I'm enjoying getting outside early in the morning before Chia's first nap, before the sun gets really hot. It took me 3 years to find it, but we now have our "special spot" at our park.
Reading: I am not a reader. I haven't been one since I was in college. For some reason, God's given me a lot of reading this summer and even some leisure time to do it! Yay for afternoon nap time! I've been reading along with the #SheReadsTruth group for a while now and have loved getting into the Word everyday. I've also started reading Jessi Connolly's new eBook, Be Quiet and Say Something. This woman has a testimony, ladies. Awesome stuff. Go buy it for yourself! I'm also starting a book club on One Thousand Gifts with a group of gals in our area, but still waiting to receive my book in the mail! Hoping to start reading before our first meeting this Thursday night. AND I'm also about to start another book for our church connection group on Spiritual Parenting. These books should definitely keep me busy this summer.
Watching: Food Network. All the time. It's our favorite channel, and we always get stuck watching The Next Food Network Star on Sunday nights. Anyone else out there just as obsessed with this show as we are?
Anticipating: New babies. Lots of them. Not for me, though. For my friends. I was just texting with one of my best friends this morning about her due date next week. Around 8pm this evening, I get a picture of her perfect little newborn boy sent to my phone! I can't wait to meet him!
Listening to: When I'm not listening to "Josiah's Faves" playlist, which consists of the Elmo song, Hillsong Kids, and Raffi, I've really been enjoying Ben Rector, Audrey Assad, and Cory Asbury. What are you listening to lately?
Planning: NOTHING and it feels awesome! We're done with birthday parties and baby showers for this summer. I'm enjoying the feeling of not having anything to plan at all. No parties. No vacations. Nothin'. Although, a trip to Florida to visit Mr. Silas would be pretty great. I'll probably start planning that.
Working on: Being content. If you read my last post, you know what I'm talking about. I've done a pretty good job this week, I think! I haven't searched MLS at all, haven't made any comments about hating my lack of natural sunlight, or lack of yard. I tried my best to appreciate how close we live to our park and how we finally found a tree large enough to sit under and guard Chia from the sun. Also, about my last post, I loved having a virtual coffee date with so many ladies. Thanks for all of you who responded. I have lots of emails and comments to reply to, so be patient with me, friends!
Praying: For my babies. They got nasty summer colds this weekend and we're all trying to kick it out of our systems as fast as possible. Runny noses, smoker coughs, and sneeze fests aren't very fun. If they're still feeling yucky tomorrow, it's smoothies for breakfast!
*This post was inspired by Danielle Hampton's blog, Sometimes Sweet. Thought it was a funny idea! What's your "currently?"

fact: I grew up going to Bible camps with Audrey Assad...she's WONDERFUL isn't she? she's a dear friend, and has an amazing heart for the Lord :)
ReplyDeletefact: I LOVE your heart as well friend...
And I yours. I really hope to hug you in real life someday! :)
Deletei love food network! i love babies! and i love the idea of just being content and living in the moment and not always looking forward to what's next!
ReplyDeleteLove you, Sandy!
DeleteI love this post. :) Love all the reading you are sneaking in, and the contentedness that's filling your week. And yes, PLEASE come visit soon. Baby smooches, lounging by the pool and Chickfila are waiting for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm workin' on it! Can't wait to smooch you and that baby boy!
DeleteI love this post! I might have to do it on my blog sometime soon. I am obsessed with the next food network star too. although i still don't know who i like.
ReplyDeleteI love ben rector. i love dave barnes always and keane. and sandra mccracken thanks to my husband...i am never short of new music.
And I hope you babies feel better soon. there is nothing more pitiful than a sick baby (actually men are pretty pitiful too when they are sick.) :)
happy wednesday!
Thanks for your comment - I don't have a favorite contestant on the show, either. Nobody is really amazing to me. I'd rather they take people back from last season and give them shows. haha I also LOVE Dave Barnes and Keane. I'll have to look up Sandra McCracken - never heard of her, but my husband probably has. He's the one who finds me all of my music. haha Thanks for stopping by, Megan!
DeleteI may have to copy this idea for my blog-it's fun! I have read and re-read One Thousand Gifts...I LOVED it! Can't wait to hear what you thought about it!
ReplyDeleteThat spot at the park looks heavenly!
