If you are already a Facebook friend of mine, then you've probably already seen all of these awesome pictures taken from Lucia's One Year Photo Shoot with DnK Photography. I absolutely love how they turned out and will treasure these pictures forever.
Before we melt into a puddle of mush from these pictures, let me tell you a little more about DnK Photography: I personally know the owners, Karin and Daniel, from back in college. I was incredibly blessed to know Karin through a bible study we both attended through Campus Crusade for Christ. She has such a sweet and honest heart for God, and I've loved reconnecting with her over the years when she takes my family's pictures. I hadn't seen her since last year for Josiah's One Year Photo Shoot, so it was fun hearing her compare my kids at the same age. Karin reminded me of how Josiah acted during his photo shoot last year, how serious and curious he was throughout the entire shoot, and how he needed to point out every little light bulb, power outlet, nail in the floor, etc. Wow, Lucia is so different from her big brother. The girl flirted and performed throughout the entire photo shoot. She knew the camera was on her and she loved showing off for Karin. She also hated being held by her mama because there were so many interesting chairs and sofas to explore.
The real difference I noticed between Lucia and her brother was when we let her attack her very own birthday cake. Lucia was very cautious, very careful, and very slow, unlike her brother (No, seriously. You need to look back at his pictures). We watched and waited for her to dig into the cake, but she would only graze the top of the icing with her index finger. I became impatient, couldn't take it anymore and smashed her hand into the cake, hoping she would become more interested in her dessert. Nope, not interested. It was yummy, but she wanted to take her time and enjoy every. finger. lick. So, we got as many pictures as we could and then dumped the majority of the cake in the trash. Silly girl. She'll probably prefer potato chips instead of sweets someday, just like her mama.
